Car and Driver for iPad

Near as I can tell this app is essentially a tool for downloading PDF style files Extremely basic stuff Even doubletapping a text column fails to zoom in properly A C effort        Basically a long PDF

Opens for a split second and then crashes immediately I checked the FAQ and in app purchases are turned on Do none of your developers download the beta versions of iOS updates to get the app ready for the new versions An email with a status update of a fix would be nice too     Completely unusable

The luxury of having instant access to the latest issue is awesome The interface is intuitive and the text and image layout is great Its also convenient to be able to pull out my iPad for backissues and not have to search around the house for my old dogeared copies                 0 to Happy in 5 seconds

Navigation is Neanderthal Once in its an absurd challenge to get out There should be a no star option     Klutzy to the max

I am unable to download the March issue Every time I try the app crashes Then the app keeps crashing every time I try to launch it Only thing I can do is delete and reinstall the app This is very disappointing     App very unstable

I cant read the articles anymore I can only see the first page and thats it Scrolling no longer works The last version worked just fine but this one is totally broken Did any one bother to test this before submitting it     This is a terrible version

I really like November and December magazines so if you can keep it up it would be appreciated                 These are very good magazines

This new update fixes the crashes of the previous version Now its usable I did email them about my previous issues and hot a response the next day Pretty good              Much Better

Downloads are unacceptably slow and often they freeze up and never complete 3 AM in the morning seems to work best which says they have not dedicated powerful enough servers to the mission     way too slow

You have to be on line for readable articles to load and they take forever Completely useless as an app where typically you would like to read the magazine off line such as on a plane Used to be much better Very disappointed     Dreadful

Been reading CD for decades The digital version is another excellent way to keep up with the great writing and the cars they write about                 CD on the iPad is Excellent

Ive been a Car and Driver subscriber for over 30 years and this summer decided to purchase the ap so I could have access to the online info and articles as well The navigation isnt logical and after just the 2nd month Im not able to access anything because it says my purchase has expired Even before the expiration I had to restore my purchase several times because it wouldnt properly load Complete waste of money and very frustrating And fyi I gave the ap a 2 rating only because I couldnt bring myself to completely flunk my beloved CD it should actually be rated a 1        Waste of Money

This app closes as soon as it is started I reinstalled it once to no avail     Disappointed

Before the last update this app was almost unusable After the update it is completely and utterly unusable I have removed and reinstalled the app I have reset my iPad I have made sure no other app is running I have done everything possible to be able to read the magazines I have paid for I have emailed Hearst magazines for helpand they just keep asking the same questions over and over about my iPad iOS version etc I give up Ive been a reader of CD for decades Theyve lost a long term subscriber over this abomination     Completely broken and support doesnt respond

Lots of facts but badly illustrated Especially for an smartphone Can not flip pages           Not well thought out

The app wont let me read articles just displays the first page of each but wont scroll No problem displaying tons of ads though     After a year still unusable

The app doesnt automatically download the new issues Also even when manually downloading it it only downloads a low resolution version of the issue and each article only downloads as it is being read Very annoying when trying to take full issues with me to a business trip where there is connection ie on a flight     Automatic download not working

It doesnt crash 4 seconds after loading What more can I say              Its a miracle

Really no aspirations of capability but some of the most basic things that are there dont work properly Subscriptions are confused with print digital and iPad being treated separately What that means is you cant get to anything easily and some of your purchases at all The subscriptions are in no way integrated You essentially email a help desk to have them try to fix Try in my case means three strikes I wanted to go digital to get early reliable delivery Hell Ill let go of previous issues if it would just do that Unable to get to latest issue eon do again Avoid at all costs     How can something so simple be so bad

This thing force closes all the time on my iPad So much that I have to delete it and reinstall it Also when you download an issue it downloads a shell of the issue When you open an article it then downloads features for that article that can take a long time if you do not have a good connection Heaven forbid you are trying to read it offlineyou are out of luck Anyway this could be a really good app if executed properly But it isnt        Force close nightmare

In the good old days Car and Driver Motor Trend and Automobile offered beautiful interactive iOS apps that were far superior to their printed mags Its the reason I bought an iPad and saved a lot of trees Then the company that publishes the other 2 dumbed down their versions to be simple snapshots of the print pages that are noninteractive Thank you CD for staying in the 21st century and offering a magnificent experience I didnt give 5 stars because there are often glitches in the updates that have to get fixed              Last Great Car Mag App

I go to click on the app to open it and it wont even open     Wont open

I keep trying but CD fails to open successfully every time IOS changes This time deleting and reinstalling does not work I give up The steadily declining content is part of that but the app failure is the impetus     Completely dysfunctional app Useless

Ive NEVER written an app reviewuntil now This app shuts down instantly upon opening Its unusable and inexcusable Get it together CD or face the consequences PS Dont tell me to delete and reinstall the app Its a temporary fix that onlyworks for a few minutes and then its back to crashing     Inexcusable
