Its lightning fast and has a wide range of options for copying comics onto your ipad The image quality is outstanding I copy comics over my wifi directly from my NAS onto my ipad from within the app It also allows selecting multiple or all files at once No more having to copy over comics one at a time or plug in with a cable The developer is very active with the app and responded to my requests the same day I sent him an email Chunky all the way                 Best available comic reader

As an avid comic book reader I set out a long time ago to find a reader app that I would be happy with I dont demand much really and yet most of them have numerous flaws or worse just dont work Chunky is fantastic There are just a few small improvements Id love to see For example I would like to be able to reduce the size of the book thumbnails and see more columns as my collection is huge If youre looking for the one app to use this is it              Terrific and almost perfect

This is THE APP for DRMFree comics There is no other Ive tried the rest this Is The Best Get comics from almost ANYWHERE including your home network Comics are auto organized by name and Chunky handles large libraries loke a dream where others crash I wish the Dev made it universal for my iPhone6 but we cant have everythingyet                 AMAZING

This app is made with love and it shows The features included beat all of the other free comic readers by a long shot Upgrading to pro unlocks some nice advanced features but I honestly just did it to support the dev Only feedback would be that renaming series titles could be easier It seems I currently have to move the whole series to a new series with the modified name                 Amazing App Amazing Dev

I have been using chunky for at least a year now I have no complaints Its beautiful and intuitive I like that I can keep all of my comics in google drive and download them whenever I need them without plugging in my computer I paid for the pro version even though I didnt need the features just because this app is so good One thing I would love to see is an iPhone app so I can read when I dont have my iPad on me                 Love this app

Hands down the best organizer and reader you can get for your comics Support all forms ad free great features and no nagging for upgrades About the only thing this app doesnt do is wipe for you                 None better

Comics look just as good as they do on the comixology app I have used ComicZeal and YACreader and found that the DRMFree comics that I upload to these apps never look as good as they did on comixology That is no longer the case with Chunky Comics look amazingly sharp even on high zoom levels Buy the pro upgrade for only 399 and you get access to an easy to use web browser interface to upload your comics This is a must have app for digital comic fans I have insanely high standards and this is the only reader app that I can say has passed them                 Outstanding Reader

Chunky is a great app with one big feature that sets itself apart from all others the ability to access your comics from a shared folder or via FTP Other comic readers require you to manually drag and drop or sync through iTunes Chunky lets you simply browse through your files on your network and download them Its great to be able to sit wherever I want and know the the next issue is literally at my fingertips It also has an attractive and easy interface for browsing the comics on your device and navigation through the pages is smooth Totally worth the pruchase                 Great Comics Reader

Chunky is a very good reader quick page turns crisp graphics etc On that alone its a 5 star app Where it really shines is in organization Being able to quickly and easily add new comics from my computer actually directly from my NAS which is incredibly convenient frees me from the tyranny and glitches of using iTunes to copy files And I can group them as I import perfect for assembling a long read of some convoluted Marvel crossover Ive tried a few readers and Chunky outshines them all                 Deserves all the praise it gets

This is handsdown the best comic reading app for iPads and in general as far as Im concerned Just about every detail of the app is customizable Want the pages to be zoomed in to the width of the screen always No problem Want the left hand margin to advance a page Sure thing Want two pages to be displayed at a time You got it Even without the pro upgrade which you should get even if you arent thinking of using any of the features to support this fantastic developer the app is still very customizable Also the little jokes that are in the app are pretty great Please dont remove them                 Absolutely Perfect

First of all let me get out of the way that the app developer is a oneman show and the quality of this app is akin to what you would expect out of a company While I have yet to find an annoying characteristic of this app If I do it gets automatic let it slide status because of the superb quality of the app overall and the level of support and personal outreach the developer maintains Ok to the review What makes this app different from any other app On the surface A cleaner experience with intuitive controls and layout None of the annoying fit to height that marvel unlimited or Amazon kindle make your comics have I prefer to see the comic fit to width and scroll a little to look at the bottom panels This app allows for that While this feature is present in other comic reading apps it deserves a mention since apparently comic book companies cant understand why someone would want the largest possible view of panels without resorting to some smart panel feature Seriously is fit to width that hard to code Obviously not since this developer got it right Upscaling One of the best features is up scaling While I was skeptical it really does make older comics look much better Regular comics look like the comics you can get from any of the comic retailers But turn it on even if your comic doesnt need it You older comics that do will look much crisper and the text will be much more legible Also do yourself a favor and turn on the one handed mode it lets you advance the comic by tapping either the left or right side of the screen As a lefty this is a solid advancement On the back end higher integration with different servers cloud storage devices etc which lets me access a much larger number of source for my comics Solid interface and reliable mechanism for transferring comics Just a joy to use It doesnt take much extra effort to distance oneself from the pack of comic apps but the developer of chunky makes the rest of the pack looks stuck in a past generation This is what a comic app should be                 This is the one

This reader is great Its easy to set up and download comics from my Dropbox or Google Drive account It has a minimalistic design Reading my comics is a breeze with this free app                 Easy to use

I have kids and its a pain to have to hook up each iPad to load comics onto their device This app allows me to upload comics to my cloud device Then they can download them themselves from the cloud to be able to read them Had problems at first trying to set up the connection But a quick email led to a quick response from the creator and voilà All set up Highly recommended                 Awesome app with great features and functionality

I love all of the different download options especially the wifi folder sharing What really makes it superior to other comic readers though is the twopage spread Just turn your device from profile to landscape and the pages combine seamlessly                 excellent features

Ive been an iPad comic reader since the 1st day of the iPad 1 release and Ive watched the apps evolve Theyve evolved to the point that they really cant anymore based on the iPad itself Ive settled into my preferred reader for the last 2 years but I stumbled onto Chunky last week After using the free version for a day I decided to upgrade to the premium features and now Im hooked I think I have officially switched to Chunky and my other comic reader just stares at me empty now Chunky is worth the try                 This is a really great Comic reader Ive switched

Ive tried a few comic readers and this one is my favorite so far I love all the cloud features and I find reading in the app to be very natural feeling Would definitely recommend it                 Great comic reader

This app is smooth and welldesigned Although some useful features are locked in the free version and reserved for the pro version such as some methods of file transfer I found the free version is complete enough to be quite useful                 Great comicCBR viewer

Such an amazingly well designed app The reader is awesome comic collections are auto sorted and its free Although the pro upgrade is definitely worth it You can download comics from your favorite cloud services and they download in the background Read while the rest of your collection gets downloaded The dev is awesome and listens to feedback I cant tell you how many devs never reply to my emails This one actually cares                 Chunky is great

This app is the best comic reader that is out there oh I have tried Comics look gorgeous and sharp lots of useful options And all that is in the FREE version In the pro version you can directly download your comics from your computer via folder share I have lots of comics on my Mac and it takes A LOT of time to upload them to my google drive account or iCloud or whatever but this lets me download them immediately did I forget to mention that its super fast I just wish I had more options in viewing the titles and dragging the comics around to rearrange them as I please like iBooks If this is done words wont be enough to describe the greatness of this app Defiantly worth the purchase                 FANTASTIC

UPDATE Chunkys awesome dev has recently updated the app to include the last feature that I felt was missing an inapp rotation lock This is now without question the best comic reader on iOS I am so happy to give this app my first fivestar review ever Truly the best image quality Ive ever seen from a comic reader on iPad I dont know how it does it Recent updates to the app have also provided manual folder options along with full folder uploading which has been a huge benefit to me The design is clean and simple does everything I need a comic reader to do and is surprisingly customizable I had minor issues after the recent update so I contacted the app designer he got back to me very quickly with a simple solution I really appreciate that kind of dedication Definitely recommended                 gorgeous best comic reader on the App Store

Chunky makes me wish I could transfer my nonDRM titles from Dark Horse and Comixology over While the guided view in those apps I always sort of liked I prefer to see the whole panel not panels that are cut off Chunky gives me so many options that I am in Comic viewer bliss now I was having issues with displaying my PDFs on iBooks contacted Image Comics about it and was recommended this reader Now that Comixology allows me to download Image Comics and certain independent titles as PDFs I have been busy transferring them over to Chunky Along with the others who have reviewed this app I can not recommend this app enough Very very highly recommended                 Still The Best

Truly wonderful apps are rare enough but to find a bestinclass app made by an awesome developer is a real treat Chunky is that app Chunky is stable it handles every file I throw at it effortlessly it renders comics beautifully and it has a powerful yet elegant interface However its Mikes great support and frequent updates that puts Chunky even further ahead of its competitors Feature requests and bug reports are addressed quickly and professionally often with suggested workarounds to get around problems Upgrades come frequently but can be applied painlessly due to the small app size In short get Chunky                 Great app from a great dev

Chunky is definitely my favorite goto comic reading app out on the apps market I prefer it over YAC SimpleComic Comic Zeal etc Free pro features are worth it adfree clean and easy user interface option to read from right to left if your comic is a manga lots of other great features Nothing but positive things on my end                 Highly Recommend

When I first tried this app it was pretty good but not the best but it was by far the easiest to get my comic book files into so I stuck with it Over the several years since the developer has improved and refined every aspect of the app from the organization UI to the reading interface to the performance This is now bar none one of the best apps on the iPad If you read comics of any kind you should at least give this app a try I am particularly a fan of the numerous easy options for downloading comics for a server or cloud storage account If you have a digital comics collection on a NAS or server this will solve any frustrations you have A                 Absolutely the best
