I have tried about 7 different VPN services for Mac and iOS some work great on Mac but not on iOS and some the other way around Now that there are so many varieties of Mac and iOS malware infections that do everything from wipe your device to take it over all together it is essential to be protected on the road as well as at home I like that you can simply trust or untrust networksany networkand cloak takes it from there without having remember to manually connect this has become the best app on the market Cloak warns you the moment you go to a fraudulent site or are on an untrusted network Their Over Cloak adds yet another layer of security It used to slow down my speeds a bit but the new version has solved that problem When I had an issue or simply did not understand something their support was immediate and outstanding I traveled to Europe and used Cloak and felt really good to know I could still connect to my country of choice or to the US if I wanted to watch HBO abroad It worked behind the scenes with a minimal amount of configuration I highly recommend this application for all your devices and cannot be happier with their support staff I whole heartedly second the reviewer who said it just works                 Super easy to use great support

the app just works the security is perfect and there is no perceived lag when using the VPN I am so amazed that the cost to use this app is so inexpensive I use it everywhere                 absolutely perfect in every way

Cloak was the clear pun intended winner over three other VPN apps that I have tried Ease of use minimalclean UI excellent functionality lots of connection choices and a very sensible range of flexible pricing The latter is especially nice for boosting coverage when traveling Also check out their blog It occupies a very rare niche in the Venn diagram of tech companies excellent product overlapping outoftheordinary topics content overlapping clear writing style Bottom line these guys are both good and thoughtful                 Outstanding app

This is amazing You tell it which wifi networks to trust and boom It automatically connects to the VPN for any other connection This is THE BEST I have ever used                 Ondemand automatic connections

I tried to sync my settings as instructed but Safari just hung After 5 attempts I gave up Not easy to install     VPN Settings Wont Install

This app came highly recommended but what a disappointment Its supposed to sync across devices but didnt in my case I was able to set up an account on one device but when I tried to log in to that account on another device I kept getting messages that username or password are invalid When I tried setting up a separate account on my second device I got a message that the username and password already applied to another account Oh and this is only a 30day trial after which you have to pay money to keep it going Im deleting this app because I dont use public wifi anyway     Worthless

Ive been using Cloak during a conference If the wifi signal is marginal Cloak drops frequently and doesnt reconnect unless I manually add back the wifi When wifi is strong the program works well and is a great convenience Its nice have an automatic vpn           With marginal wifi signal tends to drop and not reconnect

So far it has been great I will write a longer review after my trial and buy it hopefully                 Great

Now that Cloak automatically connects when on a Wifi network that you havent approved it makes it easy and simple to stay safe If you use public Wifi do yourself a favor and subscribe to Cloak If you also have a Mac even better as a subscription covers both                 Cloak protects me everywhere

The app wont open now and keeps telling me I have a new password that I should use it I dont have a new password and there is no way to reset the password It was a waste of time     Not at all happy with it

Auto connect feature is VERY useful But I cant add bluetooth pair between iPad and iPhone as a trusted network so I have to use wifi hotspot              Bluetooth

I have a very reliable VPN provider on my PC It is Private Internet Access The problem is that it has to be manually started up in Settings on an iPhone or iPad every time you want to use it and it drops the VPN service without warning frequently Until Cloak I couldnt find any alternative that worked better Once you figure out how to install and that you have to Sync it after every settings change it works easily By settings change I mean if you change which networks you trust dont need VPN or what Cloak servers you want included in you list of possibles The main feature is that it will start automatically Whether it is coming back from sleep or being booted from off the Cloak vpn service will start up It will also switch on or off as you move from trusted to untrusted wifi connections again automatically I did have intitial setup problems because some of the instructions were not clear to me and seemed odd I might have downgraded my rating for that However email tech support has been so responsive that I kept it at 5 stars One caveat I have no way to test Cloaks actual security Nor do I know if Cloak keeps usage logs This is a hot issue in the VPN world and websites like torrentfreakcom rate major VPN services on security and privacy All VPN services are not created equal                 most reliable VPN app I have found

Can be turned on and off depending on the circumstance I use it for accessing bank accts but the turn it off for streaming music from a public network The OS X app is even better eg using a MacBook in an airport                 Excellent

Nice idea was working ok but soon had trouble connecting with my home network Would not hold a connection either Also when I indicated a network was trusted the message said ok we will not automatically connect to this network Since I indicated the network was TRUSTED shouldnt it either automatically connect to it or at least give me the option to automatically connect in the future Still looking for the best VPN client        Seemed to work fine but trouble connecting

Loved the old version of this app but didnt like having to connect to an untrusted website then manually connect to the vpn With this update connecting to Cloak is automatic Simple to use yet powerful enough for my uses Connecting at Starbucks etc Great app and service                 Made an already good app great

Like the top VPNs this automatically and transparently protects you at public wifi hotspots But unlike most you can set selected WiFi hotspots up as trusted oneslike your home or office so that when you are there your traffic stays local and doesnt route at all to the VPN provider and across the Internet This is a major feature                 Superb Whitelist SSIDs

Cloak 2 is a huge improvement over the previous version The ability to trust specific connections and automatically enable on all other wifi connections is really great I dont need to worry about turning it on or off depending on where I am connected Cellular connections can also be trusted or not which is also very nice I only wish it was a little less costly 10 per month for unlimited is higher than almost all other similar VPN options but I tend to trust Cloak over the others              Has gotten much better a little pricey

I have been using Cloak and Freedome off and on for the past 2 months Freedome is actually a more powerful and cheaper solution than Cloak It blocks ad trackers and prevents you from going to bad sites where as cloak does neither of those things Freedome will also stay connected longer and reconnect quicker than Cloak So why do I go back and forth Freedome will cause your device to freeze crash and reboot from time to time far more often than Cloak does Cloak needs to add the features that Freedome has while keeping it more stable to justify paying 7 a month more than what Freedome costs           Somewhat Buggy and Limited

The connection from China to Japan is not very stable could go above 15 Mbps but sometimes as low as 03 Mbps Not to mention the always less than 1 Mbps down speed if you connect to US or Europe servers from China Please improve the speed consistency           Best but could be better

Ive been using the current version for about 6 weeks now I travel a lot and have tried 7 or 8 VPNs over the past 2 years Cloak has become my everyday VPN for use on Apple devices iOS and Mac I like the trusted network feature and the OverCloak feature that watches for insecure connections and invokes the VPN when it is needed I also like being able to routinely connect through a US IP address when Im traveling out of country That raises fewer issues with accessing my financial websites Customer support by email has been prompt and very helpful And I very much like that I can connect all of my Apple devices for personal use for the same fee rather than being limited to 1 or 2 connections Highly recommended                 Great easy to use VPN for Apple users

Ive tried a few of these types of apps and Cloak just seems to work While I cant speak to the specifics of how it works I can say Connect on demand works reliably unlike hotspot shield I mainly use this on the guest wifi network at work which is monitored at the same level as our employee network None of my traffic is blocked My employer seems to be blocking servers for other vpn products I like being able to specify trusted networks              It just works
