Not all IAA apps show up within this app I have confirmed this with other apps such as Auria and GarageBand        iOS 8 Bug
Recorded Audiobus Audio Sounds horrible during playback Some kind of bug while trying to record sequenced synths audio into cubasis via audiobus Recorded audio track sounds distorted        In app Audiobus Recording Horrible
Cubasis at this time is probably the number one fully functional DAW for iPads It does audio midi and automation along with all of the current tech for getting sounds in and out IAA midi in midi out Audiocopy Audiobus etc Various enhancements and fixes over the last year have made Cubasis a very workable DAW                 Fantastic workhorse
Finally Pro Audio MIDI Tracks together that work good with my ipad 2 Alesis io Dock I gave this 4 stars because it could use a few things and I do still have to use outside apps such as Audiobus JamUp Pro etc with Cubasis to suit my needs as a GuitaristComposer Not a real big deal I am glad I can use almost any outside music apps via Cubasiss Audiobus support Strengths Works with my iPad2 Alesis io Dock JamUp Pro and a Guitar to record onto audio tracks Havent Had any glitchy latency issues yet MIDI Audio tracks Support Editing I like the Piano Roll Included MIDI Instruments are decent quality You can import Standard MIDI Files edit them Audiobus Support allows almost any other music app to be used with it Audio FX are included They are easy to use cover the basics you would need for InsertSendReturn options Needs 1 Punch In Punch Out Recording 2 Labeled Standard Drum KitMachine with Sample import 3 A Sampler Instrument with Sample import GREAT JOB STEINBERG                 Cubasis Best Musician Recording App so far
There are many bugs in UI     There are many bugs in UI
Lied about which microphones can be used for this program now Im stuck with an app I paid 50 for and no one will give me an explanation FALSLY ADVERTISED     Stole my money
I think you can really learn to love this app and it may make you even think twice about working on your PC when you can so easily get stuff done on an iPad I am a DAW enthusiast and I was surprised how much I learned to enjoy this Some suggestions on making things better 1 have some presets for the effects so you dont have to start from scratch especially compressor and limiter 2 when mixing down a file give us option to rename it 3 give us ability to store mix downs and projects in folders or in submenusAfter a while it gets very cluttered 4 make piano roll less finicky It is very sensitive to touch it likes to resize notes and view when all you want to do is move or select a midi note The layout works just some other apps have a more easy experience with piano roll going on Thanks                 DAWsome
This app allows me to create unbelievably awesome music on an iPad Love it                 Pro Daw on an IPad
MIDI piano roll view is VERY quirky especially when using the marquee select tool Also it gets confused between vertical and horizontal when pinching to zoom in or out Sometimes IAA connections are shown to be active when they are not and the only way to restore them is to remove them and reinsert to be fair that might be due to IAA bugs in iOS 8x or the individual apps Beside that Its fairly reliable and usable           Its Okay but needs work
Im a longtime PC guy with Sonar Cubasis has been the easiest app Ive picked up on yet Still has a few bug here and there but the guys are staying on it and improving it all the time The automation was a great update and fixed the midi cc problemssustain pedal Ive turned out some fantastic songs with this and the Behringer is202 while on the road playing music I will have to say that Cubasis has made music recording easy and fun again                 Good app and getting better
One would expect excellence and seasoned performance from one of the pioneers of computer DAWs Well bury that with the rest of the compost this is a frustrating buggy unreliable piece of garbage With many attempts to make music imagine making music in a DAW i keep running into obstacles workarounds awkward to the point of Frankensteinian workflow and utter unpredictablility Examples A string patch whose sustain doesnt shut off resulting in a sickening melange of every note played Example Alchemy will not open as an InterApp Audio instrument despite appearing in the list Even following their suggestions fails to open it Example Trying to open DrumJam also on the list results in no sound being produced And they have the unmitigated gall to charge 50 for this They should be skewered NOTE that I do not have the latest update so some of this might or might not be fixed I can say this I am dreadfully disappointed that a company of Steinbergs sterling reputation and history would allow a patched up flat tire like this to be foisted upon their public I am over it UPDATE actually tried again with their new and improved version featuring automation and other claimed upgrades I swear to God someone kidnapped the pioneers at IKM and left slavering hallucinating neanderthals in their place This is a DAW envisioned by Homer Simpson IAA with Sampletank is no better A drum track that shows up fine as a MIDI track will not sound except for an occasional snare or kick Huh Bring it into the MIDI editor and all the notes are there But both move tools will not allow themselves to be selected What a massive rip FINAL UPDATE on this total loss Despite much patient help from the iPad Musician list on Facebook and a great bunch they are Cubasis continues to be unpredictable Ive removed it at last from my iPad and the next penny Steinberg gets from me will be like never Save your FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS and buy something that actually works Garbage     Absolutely no joy got a refund
No question this is the best all round audio MIDI recording app available now It interfaces with a bunch of audio interfaces has decent internal synths and sounds is easy to use and covers all your MIDI AudioBus and InterApp routing needs Theres an active and responsive Forum at Steinbergnet where devs are very communicative Updates and fixes have flowed regularly and user suggestions have been taken into consideration Personally Id like some more touch based instruments better MIDI sync and other small thingsBut that will come A good purchase IMO                 Best out there
Thank you Steinberg The keyboard sampler is beautiful and quick to set up That addition alone changes everything in regard to sound quality vs CPURAM restrictions especially for users with outdated iPads For sampleheavy musicians this means basically a new app offering new workflow strategies and a huge amount of features with improved stability Worth the premium price Bravo Cubasis                 Amazing Update
This app has amazing functionality very similar to the PC version On an iPad Air one it runs perfect for me This app is more of a program to play around with ideas than it is to actually make commercial songs with I dont see how you could The instruments available are very limited and sound very low quality I could image the effects are just as bad Functionality and work flow 5 stars Take it in the yard to the park etc and you can make music Sounds and effects 2 stars I might even go 1 star because not only is the quality poor but the selections is very small           It Is What It Is
Best DAW on the iPad hands down But still really buggy I would not rely on this for professional use Anything more than dinking around and the bugs will start interrupting the creative process              Bugs
Not working with many external midi controllers in latest update Will not work with my Alesis Q49 keyboard controller Im stuck until they update the app to fix this In the forum they say they are aware of problem and working on a fix Otherwise the program is good        Not working with many external midi controllers in latest update
While there are a lot iOS DAWs out there they all seem to have something missing in terms of a complete DAW Cubais has it all Audio recording midi sequencing multi effects a mixing console drum pads a synth a sampler piano roll Audiobus Inter App Audio runs great on older devices the bottom line is this is the only app comparable to a compile desktop DAW                 The only complete DAW
I have tried several of the iOS DAWs out there and I always end up coming back to Cubasis The user interface really is easy to get used and the builtin help is terse but covers a lot of ground The only time I run into glitches with eg IAA is when I am low on memory or CPU resources And that only happens when I am pushing my iPad too hard by either running high resource utilization audio apps such as iGrand Piano or iSymphony heavy on memory usage due to large samples running too many synths or both Its important to keep in mind that iOS will killsuspend apps when resources are low without providing any notification so if you are running into issues with IAA use the task manager to kill any unused apps Also dont forget that many audio apps will continue to run in the background until killed manually FWIW on my iPad Air I have had Alchemy Sunrizer ThumbJam with multiple instruments and AD 480 Pro all running through Audiobus going to Cubasis I have not used IAA as much but have used it with Tonestack and Tonestack Go on some guitar tracks and AltiSpace as a Master FX all playing at the same time Importing MIDI files has gone very well and the builtin instruments strike a good balance between sound quality and resource utilization The builtin synthesizer gets the job done though if you are a diehard synth fan you will want some of the thirdparty synth apps put there and then use Cubasis as a MIDI controller for them Speaking of that the MIDI editor Key editor in the manual compares well to other editors out there eg Gadget Its not perfect but if you need MIDI and audio its the best DAW I have used on iOS                 Best MIDI and Audio DAW for iPad
I first got this app and was thinking of how cool it was with all the sounds and all you can do on here But after the first 3 midi instruments you put on there it starts cracking and hiccuping and my CPU fluctuates to the max almost every time I have more than enough space to support cubasis CPU but it doesnt even give me the option to change that Therefore I have to do trial and error and constantly mix down my songs to make sure II didnt miss anything with the cracking that shows up in my music Its really frustrating and there hasnt been an update for a while At least a useful one        CPU is bad
This is a great program but where are the big meters view for the mixer and narrow view Also where is the arrange window metering Dont you all understand that its hard to know whats playing back at a quick glance with out metering                 TrinitiofATL but in Davao Ph
So initially I really liked and thought it would do all I wanted then it came time to export and I used the Mixdown option so I could export my midi creation as a wav so I could use in protools I cant begin to describe the bummer I experienced when I realized the conversion process slowed my track down so significantly it was unless All that money and work for nothing please fix     Worthless
Initially I balked at the 50 pricetag but after trying several other multitrack DAWs I am finding this one is the easiest to work with Interapp works well as does Audiobus Adding insert send and master effects is a breeze Everything is easy to get to without having to be careful where you touch the screen If I had one wish to add anything I would make the effect send stereo and have a separate left and right channel return I like being able to have reverb for a track that is panned hard right go to the left channel and viseversa It really adds a sense of space I have tried every trick I can think of but Cubase cannot do it That would make this the perfect DAW for the iPad It does midi as well in just about any time signature you can think of As for the seemingly expensive price tag I got over it by reasoning that if I am willing to pay 200 for a desktop DAW then 50 is a bargain for something I can use just about anywhere Also that price gets you everything no endless innapp purchases to nickel and dime you I had to revise my review down a notch because FX send panning is more important than I originally thought If that is not important to you then this is a good investment           Costly It Works but no FX Send panning
but it constantly crashes on iPad mini with retina display when using inter app audio or any simple function it shut down and crashes Ive uninstalled had it off my iPad for a year reinstalled it to see if anything had changed and it still crashes the same way after a whole year please keep up on your app and fix this like I said pretty DAW but inuseable        Cubasis is pretty
I hope to see that in next update Im the same guy asking this feature 8 months ago I shall add Cubasis project import into Cubase is awesome Thanks for making iPad more useful Im always recording with Apogee MiC and JAM right into Cubasis 24bit96kHz arrange them in Cubasis and do the mix in Cubase on my PC                 Still need 78 measures
I have been using and loving this app for months up until this update Im working on a score for a musical using a Blue Snowball USB mic for piano recording input After installing this update I cant get audio output from headphones or speakers when the USB mic is plugged into my iPad mini I can understand why speaker would be defeated to avoid feedback but not the headphone output Not sure if its the app or Audiobus SDK that comes with it but I cant use my mic to record if it defeats all audio output Please fix or publish a workaround Or tell me how to get the previous version back I loved it        Snowball USB mic no longer works
This app is nothing but a consistent string of bugs backed by condescending customer support The MIDI sequencing and editing are way off and work at random It barely records MIDI from an external source as it works half the time at most To top it off their customer support will treat you as though you know nothing about recording or DAWS and give no viable options for trouble shooting and say if you dont like it to get a refund Just a train wreck of an app Dont be fooled by their videos that make it look so great It is all PR and advertising for the fact this app is trash     Complete waste of time and money
This is without a doubt the most fully featured DAW on iOS They nailed it with audiobus support again with interapp audio Now its got automation and they have been cracking down hard on bugs Love what steinberg is doing                 Best DAW for iOS
Ive been using MusicStudio for many years and have never been able to master it because its so foreign It was hard to edit and I didnt understand their icons Out of frustration I looked for something either better or at least different I found Cubasis After a couple of uses I realized it was pretty close to a full blown production software but for my iPad Each track can have its own effects as well as of course Volume and Panning The midi instruments are there but its limited and I havent seen any way to purchase additional instruments The bad thing is there is no inapp way to report problems One of the problem is when you have multiple midi tracks they may combine themselves into one track unless you FREEZE the track first But editing the track is much easier However if youre serious about doing music then this app is for you              Great Music App but
Ive had cubasis since I have owned an iPad same time cubasis was released and this is the most horrible version I have come across Ive lost all my work due to the bugs in this version I cant create new stuff it wont record or save nor open any projects or erase any Steinberg has really screwed up bad     Wow the worst update of any app ever
I love this app I think its the best one on the market All of the updates or amazing                 Best music app
I was looking for am iPad app DAW to create simple backing tracks and play along live with my Yamaha P255 stage piano and this fits the bill nicely Runs very well on my iPad mini 2 and the tracks created play back thru the P255s built in speakers making for a nice live performance experience I have more sophisticated desktop DAW programs but was looking for the portability convenience here and I found Cubasis extremely accommodating I highly recommend it                 Amazing functionality on iOS
This app has revolutionized my audio possibilities on my iPad iPad Air version 1 I can record incoming audio via my hardware synths etc and treat it with effects mix it in to a song and mix it down This audio can be recorded next to parts Ive recorded of my synth apps using IAA One problem Ive run in to is not all my IAA compatible apps show up in the instrument area and two dont seem to record Ive been able to put out quality songs in a shorter time than I ever could years ago with a laptop and cubase This app is a game changer and I absolutely believe it is worth the money a great plus is no inter app purchases And the ease of exporting songs to soundcloud is unbelievable Five stars for sure                 Powerpacked DAW on iPad
I would very much like to recommend this I just recorded a podcast promo with it and the actual recording wasnt crashy However I cant get the very small mixdown files to Dropbox without Cubasis crashing This problem is wellknown but has been ignored for over a year The newest release introduces inapp purchases but completely ignores core app stability     Cant recommend
I do major multipart recordingproduction using this app along with Audiobus as the integrator of Amplitube for instrument input Sample Tank for Instruments Notion for midi notation and other rhythmsynth apps like Nanostudio Impc Pro etc for synth sounds The import export capability tofrom Cubasis tracks and these apps keeps files from all these various apps flowing and interconnected The instrument library leaves something to be desired but using Sample Tank thru Audiobus fixes that problem Ive never had a crash problem or memory problem with my IPad Air 32 gb                 Fantastic App
I tried Cubase years ago and I quickly traded it for Pro Tools but Cubasis for iPad is a real leap forward I really have to give credit to the team who conceived this app they did an excellent job keeping this app focused and simple The user interface UIX is perfectly designed for our fat fingers The Media management view keeps our projects nice and tidy The track view is responsive to user gestures like pinching and dragging The mixing view clearly designed and well stocked with effects like EQ compression and reverb The midi instruments themselves are worth the 50 alone youll end up spending way more money on inapp purchases from other apps Finally the Interaudio works perfectly I can easily borrow Ampkit Amplitube and Positive Grids Bias to make my dry guitar stem sound stellar Great app                 Best iPad DAW to date
Where the f is the side chain compression              New fx via IAP
This is easily one of the most powerful apps you could possibly get for music production on an iPad Great workflow good updates decent midi control and the only ipad DAW that really allows you to use other interapp audio instruments as instruments and plugins within the app Im giving it four stars because it still has a few bugs but its an app I use nearly every day              Getting there very good
While it starts to glitch up after having only 5 or so tracks playing Also needs more samples please focus on making this DAW better Right now the best DAW for the iOS is definitely gadget A compressor without a sidechain option What is the Daw smart enough to read my mine           CPU Usage COMPRESSOR
It has everything needed to record music and MIDI from your iPad The interface is simple to use with your fingers but it also offers deep editing options for those that need to create complex sounds Highly recommended                 Really good music production DAW
Love Cubasis Steinberg Please add sound cloud support for importing and exporting audio Thanks                 SoundCloud
Does that mean Im cut off from the update path forever I would go to 71 thats supported but apple doesnt give me that option I like the app and will change my rating to 5 stars as soon as you fix that           I am at iOS 706 and I dont want to update
I love the ease of use with recording in cubasis as well as the interoperability with out her apps That said I have a 64 gig ipad 4 and even with that it still tends to crash right in the middle of recording if I have a couple of tracks using either audiobus or the inter app audio Hopefully steinburg will fix that before long           Great but crashes a lot
You cant get a recording app that gives you more options than this Very happy with this purchase                 Awesome App
i has cubasis years and years ago no effectslol great app and sale price made it accessible to me so far the undo works for mei read problems where it crashedi have ipad mini retina with ios83 the built in instruments sounds good but i dont use em i use this for midi sequencing all my synth apps so far all work well synths and effects work fine in using media tab not sure why korg gadget doesnt show up i use that sep anyway no biggie i had to adjust buffer to 512 because stuttering got horrible also large audio recording buffer too love cut and pasting like old days can you merge cut and pastes in a track overall this rocks i make ambient and experimental and glitch stuff perfect recording daw for that              sounds greatjust like old school cubasis
im very pleased with this app and think its quite versatile considering its an app there are some things that could be improved but overall its very good since i perform live with it i would really like to see group channels and more midi instruments added for a live situation the inter app stuff is just not very feasible so maybe even a better compressor and auto tune being available to purchase would be lovely as well              really good
After the new updatesome IAA APPS are not showing in the interaudio listPLZ FIX           Missing IAA APPS
Its super buggy now Zooming in on tracks is difficult Fine editing like cutting and moving them placement of MIDIwav files on the timeline is too limited just not accurate enough I can only zoom in so much before the timeline freaks out When touching a file and the timeline is jumping around the file under my finger stays in the shame place causing all types of headaches But now add on the crashing this is too much     Crashing a lot after this update
Interapp capability does not work Sometimes tracks play back with with effects sometimes not If its not one thing its another Seriously disappointed in this thing It is totally unpredictable I have as yet to complete a project due to some kind of major malfunction every time It wont allow me to do a mixdown because it says I dont have enough free space which is total crap Wont allow me to freeze tracks again saying that I need to free up space I have plenty of free space Sounds cut out and hiccup frequently I cant even delete the useless demo tracks for some reason Hello are you people listening You got fifty bucks plus tax of my hardearned money This thing is truly a piece of crap Deleted No more dealings with Steinberg for me     Not pleased with performance of this app on iPad Air
Totally worth the cost I use this app every week with my band I hook up my Apogee One and our practice sessions have never sounded so pro                 Incredible
Now I can sit at my keyboard within touch of my DAW Cubasis for rapid drafts of songwriting ideas on my iPAD The sounds and loops are a nice start if you dont like the instruments you can use AudioBus or IAA to bring in your favorites The default Microsonic sounds are average but there are some nice instruments in Micrologue I really like the new ability to add some automation within my audio tracks The delay and reverb is also excellent Im not ready to make the leap to Cubase on the desktop thoughwould love an easy full MIDI and WAV export to get my tracks in Sonar              Speeds up my songwriting process
