I have used eSword for years now but a first time for me on a smart phone I am still impressed It is highly functional There are so many resources available to eSword You can choose from many Bible translations and languages Being able to compare translations side by side is a great feature The dictionaries concordances and commentaries are easy to find and use and the devotionals are there for those of us who find it a challenge to make find or steal time to read Scripture So eSword is powerful and easy to use with a wide range of resources Finally it is also beautiful It was the first app I went to download when I went to the dark side and bought an iPhone              eSword is a very good app

I wish that it had better directions for using Strongs numbers but otherwise I like it so far I have tried a few of the commentaries and those are real helpful I use olive tree for note taking when I am at church if there is a way to do that then I will only use this app           I like it

I was an eSword user years ago and stopped using it when I moved to the Apple family of products This product is one of the best out there and is definitely the best value Love the ability to easily switch from one translation to another Love the ability to see Strongs definitions if available in the translation being used All within the same app I didnt like the synchronization issues I had with Olive Tree when trying to switch from one translation to another Really like the compare feature ability to see same verse in all translations youve purchased is also great for studying Would like to see ability to add notes and to sync across various devices Would also like to see ability to customize tags for bookmarking I would recommend this to others Knowing how well the product was developed on the Windows platform I immediately moved to this from Olive Tree Right now Olive Tree has better note taking ability but when that feature becomes available in eSword it will be much better              Very good app

Best free bible app there is First found it on pc and went on to load it on my iPod and now iPhone Great deal and option to buy newer bible versions                 Excellent bible app

I have used this for years If you are interested in knowing the original Greek and Hebrew word meanings use the KJV version The Strongs concordance key numbers are to the upper right of each word or phrasejust touch it and you will see the meaning The touch the from the root code and it will take you to its original root meaning You can also up Thayers and have a second to see I also have many other versions uploaded such as amplified messageand etc when focusing on a particular verse highlight it hit the menu button then choose compare and you will see that verse in every version you have downloaded Awesome resource tool for teachers and students Love itlove itlive it                 Awesome App easy GreekHebrew definitions

I was leery of paying for the esword app but caved after reading all the stellar reviews After downloading I began exploring the program and was surprised by how little you really get Example is that the program only comes with 1 Bible version KJV any of the other major versions have to be paid for at a pretty hefty price My main Bible app is Bible Gateway which comes free with tons of Bible versions and other resources Not going to do pay as you go when I can use Bible Gateway or Logos for free     Pay as you go

this app does pretty much everything i would like it to for being a mobile resource very easy to use nice layout plenty of modules to download overall im mostly content having said that tho the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of builtin note keeping i would love for there to be notes in two forms 1 perhaps a separate tab where you could jot down whatever random things quickly 2 notes that could be tagged to individual verses yet not having these features isnt a big deal in the end it has still been a blessing that im thankful for so thank you Rick many blessings to you              a great mobile resource

I asked the developer of ESword to write an iPhone app for ESword in 2008 He said he never would Now its 2015 Glad to see he changed his mind but this app is far behind lacking many features now standard with other Bible apps such as cloud syncing iPhone 6Plus resolution better management of bookmarks highlighting more customization in all areas If simplicity is your think and you just want to read the Bible this may work If you want to go deeper and manage and customize your own experience and retain your information across multiple platforms this app isnt for you Since I fall in the latter category I give the app one star I wouldve loved this app to pieces in 2008 Now thats its 2015 there are several better options Ill stick with Olive Tree Bible Reader     Behind the times

I have the full version of esword on my laptop and this phone app allows me to stay connected on the go Funny but true this app is truly dope and its worth the small amount to purchase Most of the bible commentaries are free and you can highlight and bookmark a particular verse if you have to come back to it later It may be hard to learn how to use at first but once you get the hang of it youll love it                 Amazing app
