eBird Mobile makes it easy to record the birds you see in the field, and seamlessly link these observations with eBird--a global online database of bird records used by hundreds of thousands of birders around ...
With eBird I started a life list eBird website will target birds you are missing for a particular area Bird makes it easy to keep a yard list a patch list or a state list Using the eBird mobile APP and the website you can see your ranking in comparison with others Birdorg website will notify you of rare bird sightings for your state or any particular area of interest eBird mobile APP and eBirdorg has assisted my in improving my birding and has increased my love of birds                 eBird Improved My Birding
Incredible data tool This app is literally changing the way I bird for the better Would be great to edit active eBird lists that have been submitted Only issue Ive come across is that personal hotspots that you create dont appear on the map for a couple days when looking for it under choose a location from map              Great
Works well with my iPhone 4s Works like Birdlog                 Excellent app
If you know your banding codes its worth memorizing the common ones and have an ebird account adding birds to your list is as simple as typing the number a space and the code 3 modo to report 3 mourning doves for example Most of my checklists are now done using this app when Im in the field Although you can add comments etc from the app I usually just edit the checklist through a browser on my laptop once its submitted The only faster approach would be to bring your laptop into the field                 The fastest way to do ebird checklists from the field
Efficient and easy to use app Birding without this app is like forgetting you binoculars                 Excellent App
Keeps getting better and better                 Use it daily
I love this app and now use it for all my birding It is easy and efficient mostly to use I think its great for birders and birding that ones checklists can be available to the birding community immediately upon the birding being finished Some suggestions 1 When creating an offline checklist give us a narrower taxonomy than the whole world You have our location so limit it to at least North America if not by state or region 2 Dont show a species as rare just because the count entered is higher than expected                 Terrific and important birding app
Signed up for ebird online to track my life list years ago but I was just a very casual birder This app and a talk with a very kind expert birder have turned me into a birding fanatic Love the birds love the challenge love the exercise and love my fellow bird nerds Thanks ebird                 Wonderful app
Easy to use very efficient                 Ebird
Pretty much the same as bird log Already it seems more stable and faster to respond Ill give it 5 stars as soon as they add breeding codes One of the great things about birdlog and now this app is its simplicity It makes entering lists quick enough to compete with the trusty notepad              Now in green
I love using this app to keep track of bird sightings Its easy to use and provides so much data via Cornells entire website I also feel privileged to be providing information that assists bird research                 Love it
As convenient to use as it is to use an iPhone                 EBird
Generating a list is easy and accurate allows easy edits and syncs with my ebird listings very well On this latter point however implementation is marginal Submittal of a list typically fails due to timing out Its okay if it occurs and a resubmittal then succeeds but fifteen failures in a row renders the app near worthless If this is fixed this would be a fivestar app           Limited Value Thus Far
This old birder with an old iPhone loves recording observations with this app Best citizen science tool ever Thanks eBird folks Yes voice recognition would be awesome Im sure it will happen someday                 Love it
Fast and Easy data entry Bird lists automatically customized to an existing hotspot town county state or country Also customized by time of year Select location easily by map of current region or hotspot name in seconds Submit via WiFi or phone or app will automatically save and hold the list until you have an internet connection                 Great birding app
Very easy to use Great application to use while on the field Has offline mode in case you dont have any data coverage Id like to see the ability to add a photo while in the field                 Great App
This app is a great tool for entering birds in ebird I only wish addictions could be edited or details added from the app It is easier to enter lists from the mobile device than to wait until reaching a computer and is superior to the online mobile interface              Great tool
I used Birdlog NA before the transition to ebird There are times it freezes on upload but it may just be my older iphone Still the easiest way to upload my lists              Great tool for entering Ebird data
Looking and working great aside from somewhat slow mapping Looking forward to breeding codes and photo uploads through the app              eBird app
Lets you enter eBird sightings with ease on an iPhone You can update them on the mobile site Also lets you create offline counts to be uploaded in range                 Great App
My 2 favorite app after BirdsEye of course                 Solid update
A great app for a great cause                 Must have for birding
Wow this is really great I love how easy everything is to use And its so slick The development team really did an outstanding job Just topnotch Im a new birder and a millennial to boot and this app together with a field guide like Merlin is invaluable I love how you can add birds for running totals Thats both super easy and intuitive It makes it way easier for a beginning birder to actually count things Instead of saying at the end of the trip I dunno I saw robins all over the place Lets just put in a big number by keeping track as I go I automatically know exactly how many I saw that day say 17 I also really like the calculate duration feature In the future Id love to be able to look at hot spot bar charts with this app That way when Im identifying a bird I can compare to which are more likely for this particular spot Itd also be cool if we could edit submitted checklists but that sounds like you might have to change the websites api which is way more work than this added functionality would be worth Perhaps you could make it so that order of the species is customizable I live in a city and wood duck sincerely does not need to be at the top of the list for species I might be recording By putting the most common birds for my backyard at the top I dont have to type them in I believe the webpage already has this feature In all really great app Awesome job                 Fantastic
If youre looking for birds this is the place to go                 Great app
This is a great tool for all birdersand it makes it easy to submit to Ebird The app is particularly good at keeping partial checklists for review and submission If you are not sure about a bird and want to check the identity before submitting this app is very friendly Your partial checklist is there waiting for whenever you want Also it stays even if you start a new check list Highly recommended                 Love the Ebird app
If you are in an area with Internet it is very easy to create a list My only criticisms are that you can not put in species information about sex and nesting              Easy to Log
This is hands down the most efficient way to enter data into eBird I enter my birds in real time and submit when I get back to the car No more scribbles in notebooks and then key punching at home This is great                 No more paper lists
I find this the best way to record bird sightings in the field and to enter them into eBird                 Keeps getting better
The title says it all                 Best data entry for eBird
Easy to use Keeps lists by spot county state and country so I dont have to anymore Use every single day no matter where I am I truly cannot understand the so called primo birders refuse to use it By not their expertise is not making a contribution Ill be very glad when either iPhone or Picasa works directly with eBird Credibility would occur a lot faster Keep making improvements                 Love It
Was Nice for immediate entry But didnt pick up on any of our previous submissions on this device for this year And as of the iOS 9252025 update This is one of the apps on my phone which no longer works on cellular data I get a message that its not turned on for cellular access I open up cellular data and turn it on I go back to the app and it again tells me its not turned on for cellular access I take a look at the cellular settings and it shows its turned the app back off again I think might be an Apple thing in iOS as it seems to be happening with other apps too Or maybe the apps are just not updated for the newest version of iOS and causing them to not run right        Nice For Fieldwork except
I use this app every time I go birding Love entering data in real time more accurate than memory and saves time Great                 Love it
Was good before Ebird took it over has gotten better                 Great App
This app is great I use it every time I go birding Only can think of small things to make it better like moving the done button after entering a quantity to the left side enabling me to keep my free hand ready for the next bird                 Absolute must have for the serious birder
ebird and the app especially are drawing new people into birding It is so easy to use and helpful to all What a cooperative nonzero sum activity                 Revolutionizing birding
Very easy to enter lists Keep the functionality additions coming              Great app
Lots more time with my family since I can enter all sightings in the field Only wish is that it could have voice recognition so I wouldnt have to take my eyes off the birds                 Irreplaceable
I know Im a better birder since I started using this app and its predecessor Bird Log Data entry is easy and its great to know that I am contributing data to scientists while maintaining my life list Highly recommended                 Better birding
For the most part this is a rebranded BirdLog and it behaves almost identically The benefit of eBirds acquisition of the app is likely in future development and capability The potential is high but how long until we see new features One spot this app has stepped backward is the submit button I get no feedback on tap and need to wait 34 seconds for a visual cue that the tap registered Submittal was almost instantaneous on the old app              Adequate BirdLog Successor
Easy data input Merges seemlessly into eBird account No issues submitting checklists                 Great for data collection
Easy to use app for entering trip data Just need it to link to my data on eBird Certain to see constant improvements                 Great addition to eBird
Make data entry simple No more pencil and paper in the rain                 Excellent App
I love this app It doesnt crash it is easy to use but most importantly it forwards and keeps my recorded sightings in ebird database Try it youll love it                 Great
Ive been using this app for several years it was called BirdLog before and use it all the time With the switch the recent update and name change came some notable improvements that streamline the user experience I dont recall what those were when things are working really well I stop noticing reasons I do hope one day Ill be able to add details like age and sex but overall its a great tool for reporting and recording bird observations                 Indispensable
I use it every time I go birding and have had no problems                 Great Field App
Thats a nice app and easy to use but it has a few spots that could be improved Duration and distance come to my mind It would also profit by having some sort of negative reporting for the cases when we spot a noteasilyseen bird for a few days at the same location but then the bird disappear for a long while              EBird
Very quick convenient interface designed for use in the field Results are aggregated at the ebirdorg data store Wish this kind of app existed for other plants and animal groups One suggestion Would it be possible to link each species to the corresponding page on allaboutbirdsorg                 Best bird list app ever
Improved over Bird Log No issues zero submitting checklists A must have and must use app for all bird watchers                 Excellent App
Very useful app I use it for all my birding No complaints                 Excellent
I use it daily since the original BirdLog was released Pencil an notebook are passé Intelligent method of entering data The app will continue to mature Invaluable data tool                 Great field app
