It weighs in at only 8.5 MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 1.0 has been released on 2014-11-24. This app is easier to use that the various USGS websites even using a desktop computer The map works very well and is a quick way to survey what data is available Features I would like to see 1 a base layer map other than Apple Maps which has very crude and incomplete water features e g Google terrain layer 2 ability to call up historical data beyond the last 120 days although limitation may be due to the way the USGS database is set up Overall very useful app that just works                     Simple and wonderful Biddy Godoy

Let me start by saying that this app has some really useful info It seems to have all of the river gages I need in my area The downside is the UI When you try to pull up the map sometimes it will only show part of the map in the upper left corner and be missing the top of the map The best way I know how to describe it is as if the map is positioned wrong and should be moved down and to the right to make the whole thing show up         Good Info Bad Interface Fyerman01

With the ability to create favorites Riverdata makes it easy to re visit the rivers you want to track It shows all USGS measures at each location sometimes that s only the depth I d give it 5 stars but it has recently lost the ability to show any time span other than the default 7 days It used to be able to show any number between 1 119 days When that is fixed I ll add the fifth star Update The developer said the problem was with USGS contacted them and reported back that the issue was resolved and it was All in one day so 5 stars                     Useful app lindyloow

I would give it zero if I could First I had multiple saved gauges as favorites and in the new update it dumped ALL of them Lastly whenever I try to access a river gauge the app freezes crashes and closes Completely useless as of now     Crash and dump Uptheresomewhere

I fly fish in colorado and it is alright for what I need but it misses a lot of major gauging stations Especially on the south platte the colorado and many others         Suggestion LAX BRO 25

I ve had this app for many months The data is useful and well formatted but it crashes or fails to load more than once every time I try to use it Need to fix loading issues         buggy still tkdteacher

Glad to give the first review I m giving this app 5 stars because it has made my 68 year old neighbor so happy He is transitioning from a PC to iPhone and he needed a way to check the water levels of local rivers to plan his fishing trips I was afraid he would have to fumble through safari to find this data but luckily I came across this awesome app that puts all the USGS data at his fingertips It does have room for improvement but I m sure that will be addressed in future updates The biggest thing I can see right now is that a full screen view for the chart is needed Maybe a fit to screen option if you turn the phone sideways That would make it easier to read while charting over a period of time Thanks for the great app                     Just what I was looking for quickbiscuit1

Your list of sites in a given state starts out with a long list of sites that are groundwater wells It takes a lot of scrolling to get to the first actual river site For example in Virginia the first site is 09E 10 SOW 233 this is a well Just edit out all the names that start with numerals                     Great site But Long term perspecyobr

Does everything I need it to Was having issues with the graph being stuck on 7 days and emailed support and within hours had a response that a fix was sent to the App Store and that just uploaded today and the graph works Great for planning a trip to see trends and how fast a river will drop to fishable levels                     Great app EMT Andrew

App does not provide all sources of data at stations it monitors Specifically for CO where I live I know what data is available from the stations I looked at and the app only showed partial info Also does not tap into all available stations on our local rivers     Limited Data FRColorado

I have same issues with Favorites list above but even more concerning it won t seem to refresh to current time date unless you back all the way out to the main list before returning to the gauge you are interested in I can get gauge info quicker thru web browser Useless app until it can refresh and maintain proper Favorites list         problems need to be addressed svenlang
