A dramatic overhaul produced major improvements over previous version which is a good thing since earlier was one of the worst newspaper sites out there Still hard to get to top news stories on home page Have to use menu to guide to news to remove all the distractions Editorial decisions still seem to be based too much on what video is available Also no button to email story to someone only news site I know without one Would give it 312 stars if I could           Major improvement

This would be a great app if we could manage the type of alert Im constantly notified of continuing sports scores           Too many alerts

Just downloaded this app to read a particular article I cant read this in landscape view so I probably wont be using it much Disappointed     No landscape view

Why cant I search for articles Why can I only get a few articles under each heading I am a paid subscriber so its not like Im whining about a free app This is a beta version that was rolled too soon and apparently no one thought to look at decent paper apps and gain some knowledge of how to build a decent newspaper app     About as bad as you can make an app

I subscribe to both the Daily the Sunday print versions of the CourierJournal My wife reads these print editions front to back everyday I on the other hand tend to be more of a News Scanner quickly picking my way through and choosing that which seems of particular interest to me Its this reading characteristic of mine that makes this app so appealing I also enjoy having a local sports resource in my pocket and always with me The CJ Staff does an incredible job of keeping the news sports items updated and fresh throughout the day In the past the CJ printed version tended to be written with a more progressive some would say a liberal viewpoint and unfortunately that has changed albeit slowly over the last decade and I for one miss that perspective and hope the staff editors will be able to keep it from becoming any more conservative and they will strive to keep reporting with a more nuanced compassionate outlook towards the people who live in our beautiful city and its surrounding environs Great app I highly recommend it                 Excellent Local Regional News Resource

I wished for a CourierJournal iOS app for a long time and they did not disappoint                 Worth the wait

The app could use some improvements like a search option If that option is there I sure as heck cant find it so it should be made prominent Love the CJ Glad there is an app              Great app better content

I love the app and is great but recently it crashes upon opening It does not even start up now without crashing Please fix              App Crash

The NYTimes app is the gold std for newspaper apps The CJ app is a real disappointment     Poor excuse for an app

As soon as you open the app it asks you for a username and password but you cannot register a username and password So then you have the option to log in with Facebook which I am sick of every app wanting your Facebook info btw and even if you log in that way it tells you Login Failed No subscription found You must be a subscriber to view this content What the As another reviewer said the WLKY app is far better Avoid this app     Unable to read any content

A nicely presented local news app however its VERY common for a breaking news flash to be a dead link Fix that inconsistency and Ill give it 5 stars              Pretty good but has flaws

Why are forgotten password reset requests responded to with an email with a link that does nothing to allow a reset The link just returns you to the homelogin page A problem with both iPhone and iPad apps Id rather read the print version than deal with the hassle in your apps     Password reset

The content is far less than what is in the print version which has shrunk itself in recent years Sometimes the app wont open and when it does an annoying bank pop up ad frequently appears The CJ should look to its parent companys USA today app for guidance Of it doesnt improve soon Ill be stopping my subscription        Poor substitute for paper

iPhone app is very weak Cannot find obituaries I had the iPad app which is no longer working and it did have obits but it took me out of the app and to a link to see obits I subscribe to the paper edition and should get the iPad app free but it no longer exists One of the worse apps I have seen     Awful app

I am constantly getting breaking news notification but when you tap it and the app opens the story is nowhere to be found Very frustrating     Wheres the story

Im a paid subscriberloaded the app got signed in only to be bombarded by full page ads When you try to clear the ad it takes you back to the front page Makes the app unusable Garnett displaying the epitome of greediness with WAY too many ads Their website is just as bad I thought when I was logged in as a paid subscriber I would get a somewhat ad free experiencedont waste your time on this app     Overloaded with pop ups

About a week ago when scanning my Courier Journal app as I normally do I noticed the stories on the page were the exact same as the previous day I tried refreshing the page still no change I tried deleting then reinstalling the app then I couldnt find the Courier Journal in the iTunes store I called customer service and they assure me the app can be downloaded as they just tested this in their office while I was on hold Ive tried everything and cannot get the iPad app on my iPad I can however get the iPhone app on my iPad and iPhone I dont want to have to look at that small screen thoughthus the reason I have an iPad Get it together CourierJournal If not you may find yourself another customer short     Cannot access via iPad

The CJ has significantly improved this app The alerts are timely and extremely useful recently for school closing information during bad weather The news seems to be updated multiple times throughout the day App loads quickly and the videos are a nice addition One criticism I would like to have the ability to share news stories through the app I have several Louisville news apps Overall this is the best local news app in Louisville                 Solid local news app
