Sitting here in Fort Nelson paid almost 28 bucks app will not work AT ALL TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP GETTING REFUND FROM APPLE     Complete rip off Jimthepilot
Be ready to go though an extensive verification process I have signed up for encrypted government email services that much easier Finally I got my username and password and they didn t work So the username and password they just gave me in an email didn t work Don t waste your time or money     Don t waste your money L4774
This app needs to be connected to internet to launch I followed instructions installed app downloaded the 2017 guide without interruptions A few days later I want to access it from a campsite Stuck on first screen         Offline doesnt work BackroundAmbience
Not convince on the negative reviews I downloaded the app and the book with no problem and I am able to use it with out any internet connection The detail on the app says you have to let it download without interruption otherwise you will need to have internet to use it Just let download before you go thru the pages Great book to have for travel planning                     Great app Fatyopbsnfrjxh
Not sure about all of the negative reviews I made my purchase downloaded the book waiting until it was completely downloaded as stated in the app description I then turned off wifi on my iPad All is good I can navigate and read the book Much better than lugging a 700 page book on my motorcycle I do wish it had a text reading mode like most digital magazines Still worth it                     Works fine Pythias
We thought having the e version would be easier than pulling out the big hardcopy version However to use the app one must have Wi Fi or cell service neither of which are readily available when driving to and from Alaska Thus this app is virtually useless     Useless Kebts
We purchased the 2014 Milepost back in 2014 Had it on my iPad 4 months ago but today when I was going to check something out it had disappeared Paid 25 00 for an app and they take it back Apps should last forever unless you remove them especially a book NOT a Happy Camper     Scam Highway Robbery Snacksmom
The paper version contains so much data that it quickly becomes mental overload and pages start falling out Decided to try the app figured it at least wouldn t fall apart like the book Kinda works on the iPad but won t download to my phone telling me I haven t purchased it Doubt if it would be much use on the iPhone anyway printed to small to much data on a page NOTE I use the word data instead of information         Not Much gmctoyman
Won t download 2016 version at all Not even useable     Useless aJ alaska
Wont load open nothing at all the only thing it did was take my money Scam Dont waste your time or money on this If you want it buy the book itsel     Waste of money Bhop84
This app does not work without internet connectivity what a same seeing as how most of Alaska and Canada does not have Internet connectivity     Unless without internet connectivity SiteWizards
As the other raider said this app is useless when traveling on the Alaska Highway in Canada or in Alaska Since it does not go to the device and you need Internet connectivity to use the app you cannot use it while you re traveling The actual book is frustrating enough in trying to go against the flow of the direction of the book You would think on an app they could turn that direction around which ever way you are traveling I would rate this app in the negative if I could They are obviously trying to make money without doing anything innovative to useful to actually help a traveler     Useless on the road in Canada and Alaska WiredForWinter

Downloaded the app got to install my username and password crash Reset phone same thing As soon as it opens it crashes Uninstalled and reinstalled crashes iPhone 6 here and can t even use the app Fail Wish it was like the book Some things are just left better to print No cell service in most of the routes I take anyway     Useless app non stop crashing XXFire
It looks like they have fixed some of the issues folks had with this app I just downloaded the guide onto my iPad 4 It took perhaps five minutes to download over a high speed connection The app crashed a few times before the download started and once while I was using it hence the four stars but now seems to be stable I put the iPad in airplane mode to confirm that it works without an Internet connection and it seems to be working fine This is definitely easier to deal with for a person who will only be using it on occasion Give it a try The information is fantastic                 Seems to work now Yosemite Kid
I ve got the hard copy 15 version and downloaded the app to my iPad G2 WiFi only last night Like everyone else I couldn t even get the app to stay open for more than a few seconds before it would crash but then after a few times it seemed to become stable I entered my login credentials after going through the process to get a password using the code in the book and was able to browse through the eBook but like others it was dependent on having an Internet connection This was despite selecting to download the issue the pause button was visible but the status stayed at 0 721 pages without moving So I was about to come on here and rip this app a new one but when I opened it this morning the download magically started and did complete So now I can use he thing offline no prob Others may just want to keep trying like I did The only real problem I ve found with the app now is that the ability to jump to a page by clicking the page number in the bottom right Doesn t work in portrait mode but it does work in landscape mode                 Went from bad to good Velolion57
As others have pointed out the Milepost is actually a great resource This app however is a total waste of time and money and a borderline scam I bought the paper version because it was advertised to have also include an e version which I wrongly assumed I could load on my iPad and have it available while offline My iPad is wifi only so even if there were cellular coverage this app would still be 100 useless while traveling iOS 8 has been out since last September but this app was last updated 14 months ago It s pretty obnoxious that they want to charge a premium for this app but do absolutely NOTHING to keep it bug free and up to date If it were free I d still be deleting it Avoid this app at all costs until they get it together and stop taking advantage of us     Terrible VectorZ
Crashes constantly Doesn t load most of the time C mon Milepost you have always put out a great product Update this totally worthless app     Crashes Doesn t Load 1donc
No effort to address or update ths app Crashes immediately 20 to even ACCESS magazine     CAVEAT EMPTOR jb1169
I ve used The Milepost for some 20 years now I value the information I find in the hardcopy but the digital version is ONLY useful if you have a high speed internet connection and as others have mentioned it s a bit cumbersome to search I had really hoped that the digital version would be a real e book But it s not Nothing is permanently stored on your device And since I most often need to use the Milepost when I m far far away away from any cell tower I still have to use the hardcopy Fortunately you really only have to buy a new one about every five years So buy a new one if you need it download the digital version for quick reference when you re at work and daydreaming but be sure to take the hardcopy with you on the road         Useless without a high speed connection AlaskanMariner1
Crashes immediately with iOS8 on iPad 3 as well as iPad Mini Retina Pathetic Disappointing     Fails to Load BugBitten
I have yet to have this app finish loading before it crashes Too bad the Milepost is an icon in the travel industry They should pull this app down and fix it     Crashes before it finishes loading flyfish_ar
App won t open closed all other apps restarted iPad still fails to initialize and open Worst 20 I ve spent on an app howdoigetmy back     Complete fail real_mtbcoach
First it won t run under OS 8 and just crashes Second put it in iBook or eBook format so it will work in the boonies rural Alaska without Internet Waste of money now     What is wrong with this app Jackaroo123
Love the hard copy of the Milepost but this app was utterly worthless when I tried to use it on a trip from Alaska to Minnesota When it worked at all it was maddeningly slow and the search functions were rubbish I d give it 30 negative stars if the scale permitted     Worse than useless tommy ludd in alaska
The hard copy version of The Milepost is great This electronic version is terrible Rather than doing what they should have done and offered it as an iBook they created their own app which does not work well if at all Search is clumsy and slow You can t highlight as you read the book After opening the app you still have to select which edition you want and you can not eliminate the option of buying last years version While traveling in Alaska I found this version impossible to use and went back to using the 2012 hard copy     Terrible App 5teve5
I paid 19 95 and the app crashes as soon as I try to view the Milepost     Crashes constantly WM3E
It seems that you have to buy the ebook to use this app     Must buy ebook K-ak
App doesn t work offline They call it a ebook but you have to be connected to the web to work with it Search finds the pages but it will not take you to the page No jump to page What a ripoff Don t waste 19 95 on this     Alaska Milepost App doesn t work off line Jiminalaska
There is so much information This was a lifesaver for my family                     Wows nelson lacour
I arrived in Alaska in 1966 I have used the Mile Post since that time I have personally driven the Alaska Highway 10 times It truly is the bible of travel to from and within Alaska My husband and I are avid campers We have never been disappointed with The Mile Post                     The Rev Dyana Orrin Rev. Dyana
Totally non intuitive app Eventually it loads the book but with no more functionality than the free pdf PLUS it charged me 19 99 for the supposedly free app     HighwayRobbery SadderButWiser2013
Don t buy it it eats up all your battery and data it has to download 774 pages each time you hit your app     Horrible Droseana
I bought the new edition but it does not work The pages will not display at all Just a gray screen Fix it or refund my money     2013 edition &eP
The content is beautiful and presents just like the full book version when you can finally see it I have downloaded the 2012 edition after purchase and pages still take forever to load This is totally unacceptable for a book that is supposedly fully downloaded Please fix this     Content there but frustratingly slow 9845
I purchased this digital copy of the 2012 edition late Jan 2013 I hope it comes with a free upgrade to 2013 This digital edition has expandable maps and positive information on all routes and entertainment from getting out of WA through beautiful BC into Alaska points of interest and to your destination Don t leave home without The Milepost                     Perfect for travel RearingHorse
This is not really the milepost app It s an AD to try and get you to spend 20 more for the digital edition of the milepost     Spend 20 to get app Alaska bound 14
The Milepost is the quintessential guide for planning an Alaskan trip However all the content is there in this app but it takes forever to load pages I had assumed it would have been similar to the Kindle or iBook reader It is not There is a significant delay in loading pages Just be aware it s not like reading a book for this app             Milepost Mixed Review Rames14
Just for clarity The App is free But you still have to purchase the book to open the app That s 20 Thank you Just so you know Plus the app may not work properly all along the Al Can if you re driving because of limited to NO SERVICE Poor Internet service Poor app With that said it s helpful to have the e version The app does what it s suppose to do give you information on the rich and glorious history in both Canada and Alaska It s nice and tidy and convenient You can plan your daily journeys the night before while you are in a town or hotel with WiFi and be prepared for what s ahead I would bring up the next days map and pages and have those available for quick reference I found once I was on the road the app would open to the last location but not be able to load more information So you just have to work around that little glitch The Milepost its self is invaluable Whether it s in the super thick kill a forest city phone book size or the app version Any and every one traveling to Alaska needs the Milepost It s like American Express Don t leave home without it                 Misleading But a good handy app Nmred
We bought this app a couple of days before our dream vacation to Alaska We rented a RV for 21 days and planned on driving all over the interior and Kenai Peninsula We expected the Milepost to tell us everything about these areas but unfortunately most of the time we could not get it to load We had to keep stopping and reloading the app and most times it took six to seven tries before it finally came up By then we made decisions without the help of the Milepost We just kept getting a message that stated Loading Issues and it would freeze up Also we found that when we were able to get it to load some of the information was out of date The listed campground fees are 5 7 more than what is listed in the Milepost and we discovered when we drove to some of the advertised RV parks they had been closed for several years We had the 2010 hardcopy of the Milepost and were excited to purchase the 2012 app for my iPad to use on our trip However overall we were pretty disappointed with it and found it to be of some but limited use             Disappointed loading issues n2mtnbike
Bought the book at Barnes Noble Was in a rush Paid 29 95 But the App is free if you buy the book Once I had the book I enrolled in the Milepost VIP Program There is a unique number on page 2 of the book that the online enrollment requires It also asks you to enter a word on page xxx and column xxx The page and word change for every enrollment After all of that I downloaded the app It was not obvious on how to unlock the app ITunes kept asking me to buy the app for 19 99 But I had a free version I then saw a a small icon of a lock in the upper right hand corner of the screen Once I clicked it I was unable to unlock the app download and use it The app is identical to the book But there are lots of links to web pages and to other parts of the book There is also a good search capability Getting ready to plan our upcoming road trip Will be interesting to see how helpful the book app will be It is our first trip to Alaska                     Great App GAVolunteer
Purchased this app for my upcoming relocation to fort wainwright Alaska and it won t even open Heading to Barnes Noble to buy the paper version     Horrible klydrl

Glad this finally arrived just in time for my trip I have installed the new version and it seems to have corrected the bugs that existed in the first release This app contains a lot of Great and Useful information Hopefully the issues from the original version have been corrected and everyone that did not have a positive experience will give it another try Dave with the Milepost has worked with me and answered every question I have ask and replied to every e mail I have sent Dave even sent me a printed copy Both versions are very informative however the electronic version is the one I will use Dave and Team thanks for all the help and a Great Job with this publication I know this is a tremendous amount of work Thanks once again for all the assistance                     Great app J Nelson Thornton
Consider this mini review positive as I have no reason to expand on all the wonderfully written positive reviews already mentioned plus I m lazy I m fortunate to have been given the opportunity to move to the interior of Alaska via a job transfer and have found this app to offer the best all in one source of information offered from any single source of information I ve found for a newbie wanting to learn much of the in s and out s of the entire state Thanks for bringing such a fantastic resource to the iPad                     Fantastic app M Yatchak
This app does not work without internet connectivity what a same seeing as how most of Alaska does not have Internet connectivity     Unless without internet connectivity
We have driven the Alaska Cassiar Highways several times and will do so again soon We have always had the most current Milepost print version as our companion on these trips This digital version is awesome and so much easier to use by the copilot and driver when at a rest stop then the print or PDF versions Love it                 Great App
This is not really the milepost app Its an AD to try and get you to spend 20 more for the digital edition of the milepost     Spend 20 to get app

The blurb for this app is extremely misleading It sounded like for my 2000 I would get the electronic equivalent of the Milepost Magazine No such luck The content loads and loads and loads and whats already been loaded disappears It doesnt seem like its going to be possible to use this app on the road Bummer Im out 2000        Queen of English
As others have pointed out the Milepost is actually a great resource This app however is a total waste of time and money and a borderline scam I bought the paper version because it was advertised to have also include an eversion which I wrongly assumed I could load on my iPad and have it available while offline My iPad is wifi only so even if there were cellular coverage this app would still be 100 useless while traveling iOS 8 has been out since last September but this app was last updated 14 months ago Its pretty obnoxious that they want to charge a premium for this app but do absolutely NOTHING to keep it bug free and up to date If it were free Id still be deleting it Avoid this app at all costs until they get it together and stop taking advantage of us     Terrible

I bought the new edition but it does not work The pages will not display at all Just a gray screen Fix it or refund my money     2013 edition
A huge waste of time 5 hours to be exact on my new iPad 2 It would start to load and get to page 300 then lock up Nothing else could be loaded and I could not access the previously loaded pages This happened twice restarted the app the ipad reloaded the app etc per Apple support Shame on Apple for selling a nonfunctional app and making this sooo much more complicated than it needs to be Why not just sell this as a BOOK which is really all it this is I have requested a refund from the itunes store     WORST APP EVER COULD NEVER GET IT FULLY LOADED
No effort to address or update ths appCrashes immediately20 to even ACCESS magazine     CAVEAT EMPTOR
I have yet to have this app finish loading before it crashes Too bad the Milepost is an icon in the travel industry They should pull this app down and fix it     Crashes before it finishes loading
App doesnt work offline They call it a ebook but you have to be connected to the web to work with it Search finds the pages but it will not take you to the page No jump to page What a ripoff Dont waste 1995 on this     Alaska Milepost App doesnt work off line
It looks like they have fixed some of the issues folks had with this app I just downloaded the guide onto my iPad 4 It took perhaps five minutes to download over a high speed connection The app crashed a few times before the download started and once while I was using it hence the four stars but now seems to be stable I put the iPad in airplane mode to confirm that it works without an Internet connection and it seems to be working fine This is definitely easier to deal with for a person who will only be using it on occasion Give it a try The information is fantastic              Seems to work now
WARNING Do not use the Bookmark feature as it causes this app to crash Dont know why it just does I downloaded this app six times The first four times I didnt put together why the app would crash On the fifth I noticed everything worked fine until I tried adding Bookmarks After doing several bookmarks everything seemed OK so I closed my iPad restarted tried opening the Milepost again but once again found the app crashed On the sixth download I have abandon the Bookmark feature havent crashed since So heed my warning Install but dont use Bookmarks The Milepost itself is great It took about 50 minutes for my 5mbs Internet service to download the 798 page app Upon opening The Milepost app youll notice a blue highlight over the caption 21 x 31 pullout Planatrip map Tap that a pdf map opens that doesnt lose detail when you zoom in for higher detail Tap the screen some quick access icons appear at the bottom of the screen I use Thumbs instead of the app killing Bookmark feature Page 1 is the Contents page Just hold your finger tip on the page number youd like to jump to youre there in a flash Everything thats in the big book is in this app Overall I give The Milepost a 5     App 1 The Milepost 5
The Milepost publication is a great tool but the iPad app for it is bad Im currently installing it for the third time and hope it will work this time The app works fine for a few times then hangs Once that happens the only thing that can be done is to delete the app and reinstall Once installed it take 12 hrs to download the Milepost data I love the app when it works     Very flaky
Totally nonintuitive app Eventually it loads the book but with no more functionality than the free pdf PLUS it charged me 1999 for the supposedly free app     HighwayRobbery
Slow to load a bit buggy and some misdirected linksbut since it was free after having already bought the print version Im not complaining              Good sidekick to print edition
Takes awhile to download this 798 page travel guide but once it has WOW Has so much information Cant imagine needing any other source for traveling the 14000 miles of roadways of western Canada and Alaska I love all the links to the businesses and attractions throughout the pages Great photos and wonderful maps make this travel guide and trip planner a delight to use                 Truly the bible of North Country travel
Crashes constantly Doesnt load most of the time Cmon Milepost you have always put out a great product Update this totally worthless app     Crashes Doesnt Load
Downloaded the app got to install my username and password crash Reset phone same thing As soon as it opens it crashes Uninstalled and reinstalled crashes iPhone 6 here and cant even use the app Fail Wish it was like the book Some things are just left better to print No cell service in most of the routes I take anyway     Useless app non stop crashing
Dont buy it it eats up all your battery and data it has to download 774 pages each time you hit your app     Horrible

Great concept The printed book is fantastic but the iPad app is too buggy to be useful Took a looooooong time to download and install Dead links favorites doesnt work latency is unacceptable overall just buggy Its a bummer I was really looking forward to this app since we are leaving for Alaska in 3 days     Not Ready for Prime Time
