Have been using app for couple of years without incident Would have rated a 45 stars However lately the app has ground to a halt Now experiencing what others have mentioned reauthorization loop I access app try to view the paper and requires authentication goes to login page and before I can enter info loops back to paper requesting authentication Must be fixed as app is useless at this point Will change my review once app is fixed     Great app in concept problem app in reality

It is my pleasure to amend my earlier review of this app when Offline reading was broken for almost a month The app was completely unusable for me since I use it primarily on airline flights So I was very pleased to see that this week it is fixed and working once again So Im bumping the app from onestar to three Well done           Offline reading FIXED

I subscribe to both the paper and the app When I travel I get a popup box prompting for login information This is annoying and even after entering the information repeatedly I cannot get my account recognized and cannot access the news Kill the app and try again same problem Seems to work more reliably in Atlanta I agree with other reviewers that the information is slow to load compared to other news apps        Will not recognize subscription

This is a copy of the daily paper I travel and live outside the delivery zone so the app is it That said the app is absolute junk It doesnt work well and there are continuing problems if you are logged in thru Itunes with the AJC allowing your subscription you can try to re enroll resubscribe ets and mostly it will eventually work after several tries but it is a constant annoyance particularly when paying 10 month DO NOT BUY IT Update nov 2014 Still absolute crap there is no excuse for an app to work this poorly for 10 monthly     Do not buy

We were able to read the paper for about a week before it crashed this time We get a screen with the current days paper showing loading thats it Why are we paying for a paper we cant read        Lousy Ap

Why is this so hard Im a paid subscriber I open the app I hit the home button I hit the more breaking news button and then tap a story about a civil war museum in Kennesaw Up goes the paywall a prompt to log in again followed by a crash The other AJC app doesnt work either        Old media FAIL

At random this app will not allow you to log in It becomes more difficult to manage if you purchase through the App Store The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing Very frustrating     This App Stinks

This is he worst app I have ever used on iPhone or iPad Frequently crashes not user friendly I would give 0 stars if given that option     Awful

First instead of simply updating the app like other developers they make you delete the old one and download the new one 2nd I STILL have to delete my cookies to get the paper to load 3rd I cant double tap on articles to read them in their entirety I have to go to the actual page The point of the digital issue is so I can browse like a regular paper and read articles like a link Yet again a great concept poorly executed        Another lousy update

This site is not what Atlanta deserves from its hometown newspaper Subscription based product does not equal the cost Frequent crashes and the mysterious login Groundhog Day cycle is frustrating and has me wishing for Lewis Grizzard and Furman so I say Selah I will go read the real paper copy that comes to my driveway rain or shine or ice storm        AJC needs to move ahead

I know that I shouldnt get a company that has sent me a monthly newspaper snail mail bill that isnt me to my house for 7 years even though I have tried to get then to stop to actually get an app right but alas I am an optimist The paper doesnt load on my iPad at least twice weekly So two rectify it I delete the app and download it again each time and voila        Keep trying

This app cannot support IOS 4it keeps crashing and cannot handle the pages Not everyone has the newest 7 version Every time they change something I loose my capability to read the daily news The support people are no help they just say you need an updated version I miss reading the paper every morning It is totally frustrating     Totally Frustrating

As a big news consumer one who subscribes to the NY Times and The Wall Street Journal and a long time former AJC subscriber I took a shot at the AJC digital product and did my best to sort through the thoroughly confusing options and tiers of service before subscribing on Tuesday By Thursday I had had enough and cancelled The short story is that I asked two operators if what I was buying for 999mo would give me access on all my devices I was assured that it would It did not Their telephone representatives were poorly informed and poor communicators Interestingly the only operation that went smoothly was my cancellation I guess that discipline is wellworn For the life of me I cannot understand why they have multiple digital plans Both the Times and the WSJ offer one simple digital plan that works across laptops desktops tablets ereaders and smartphones The AJC offering is unnecessarily confusing And the iPad app at least the one called Todays Paper is clunky at best No wonder you theyre not exactly the darling of the App Store reviewers Their business would be better if they offered one quality product Apparently they think that the difference between 10mo for a single product and 15mo for all access is a sticking point I would remind them of the Warren Buffet bromide Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten Heck Id wager that if they simplified and fixed the product they could just charge 10mo and make up in volume what they lose in tiered pricing Our community is the real loser here It would be so much better for civic engagement if we had a reliable elegant and simple newspaper product in the digital marketplace     Dont Bother

OMG It loads and loads and then doesnt work Upgrades never work and support just says delete and reinstall Did that and same thing App works fine from browser but dont like the page behavior     Just awful

The pinch and squeeze feature is back Never mind What happened to the pinch and squeeze option to magnify an article on a page Now we have to open another window to read an article or take a quick look at something Please consider giving an option that works like the just replaced app was pretty much best in class     A bad updateUPDATE

For a paper pushing their eedition this app gets worse with every update I can view the paper in a browser by clicking on a link from the daily email but the app says Im not connected to the Internet     New looksame horrible app

Dont understand the complaints Download paper Read paper Repeat Maybe people are riled about paying subscription but thats the state of print media Relax                 This is really nice

Lately this app has been very slow Its a graphic based format so there may be server capacity issues Often the paper takes several minutes to appear then a few pages in additional pages again take several minutes to load This happens regardless of the network Im on or the day The app offers a download for offline option but this rarely helps First the ipad does not keep the issue so moving away from the app and back to it will require downloading again Also the initial downloading happens rapidly then slows to a crawl and sometimes stops altogether IF you can access the full paper then everything is there from the ads to the special sections all formatted exactly as the print addition Tapping an article expands it so readability is good or its easy to zoom in ipad style for the same thing Navigation is okay but can require an extra step or two compared to more modern apps        Works well enoughsometimes

I updated the latest AJC newspaper app last night It was supposed to include bug fixes Quite the opposite what worked before doesnt Now It gets hung up loading the newspaper on my iPad Mini Retina running the latest version of ios Please fix this for real     Latest update doesnt work

Another round of frustration for the past five days the paper wouldnt load Two days to have customer service get back to me and tell me to delete the app then reinstall Half the time the paper takes forever to load even with a good wifi connection Very disappointing     Mediocre paper buggy app

Print too small does not allow you to enlarge The ads are bigger which should make your advertisers happy but if you lose subscribers you wont have any advertisers Go bak to the old design     Hate the new redesign

I am a big fan of the AJC subscriber for many years But their online access offerings are just awful This one is difficult to read on the IPad slow to function and has few redeeming qualities I do not understand why a company with the digital experience of Cox needs to outsource these apps After trying to use this app on an IPad I went to their web site and find that accessing their content requires multiple cookie insertions rendering it unusable with a cookie blocker My affection for the AJC and its content is demonstrated by the fact that this is the only newspaper I read in the paper version daily among three newspapers I hope they get this together soon but this isnt the answer     Why cant Cox get this right

The COX company is too big to continue to use such a terrible product like Olive for online access to the AJC I read other online papers with no problems Advice get rid of Olive and go back to the APP program used 5 years ago I had no problems then     AJC App

Tried this app off and on for a year Every few months it tells you to login but I dont have an AJC login When it does this no way to view your paper I bought monthly subscription through the Apple iStore No place to report problems so you basically lose your 999 you paid     Not goodloses authorization

Its a below average app where pages often stick or fail to load Ive written AJC several times to point out that the font size buttons fail to operate about half of the time And please make the articles download before the page images not after That would save enormously when downloading in low bandwidth areas Sometimes all we need are the articles and they load much faster than the pages        App Developers Need to Listen

I just bought a new iPad because mine was too old to update and load some apps I use The AJC app doesnt work on a four year old iPad or a brand new Air 2 I guess Ill have to sign in to read articles via the website Think twice before paying for this service     App is awful

Every other week there is something new wrong with this app This week you cant even download the paper Usually you need to delete app and download again Dont call 4045551212 Their subscription line because you either get India or this sweet but clueless lil ole lady who will tell you to clear your browser Dont just delete app and and reinstall     Worst app ever Something new wrong every week

Wow This is a really terrible application and overall terrible viewer experience the AJC should be ashamed This Olive software is junk I rarely get a working download of my paper if I do I have to use some terrible navigation tools and pray the app doesnt crash CNN NY Times WSJ even the Atlanta Business Chronicle they can provide good online offerings Whats the issue     How can a viewer experience be THIS bad

Like all the other AJC apps this one is basically hopeless It continually requires you to log in which you can do and the login is accepted But as soon as you try to actually read the paper it requires you to log in again This goes on forever And dont bother calling customer service for assistancethey are clueless     Does not work

I am on my third day of trying to read current editionit tells me I need to either login or subscribe They debit my account monthly and always successfully I try to read the paper daily with about a 40 success rate Even after trying to resubscribe restoring subscription and relaunching it still wont let me in Even more infuriating I cant read current stories posted on the site because I am not considered a daily print subscriber even though I pay 999 a month I have to wait until the news is typeset in the digital edition the following day to read the story thats IF I can authenticate     Blows more than Moby Dick

My app doesnt allow me to sign in It keeps kicking me out I have a subscription and have for years This happened before Cant get any help from 855 number either Not happy with the way this app DOESNT work     Frustrated

Once upon a time this app worked marvelously As other reviewers have noted however it has started going downhill lately Ironically I dont have performance issues My problem is that I often cannot log in at all Sometimes even when I can log in leaving the app and returning later means having to log in all over again And because the login screen clears every time you leave the app it is impossible to copy and paste both an email address and secure password into the app My workaround solution has been to log in before I leave home and select Download for offline Unfortunately this doesnt always work so Im often left with reading the webbased version rather than the tablet version So far I can still access the digital newspaper through the iPads Safari web browser without problems           Works great when it works

Several nice new features but they are rendered irrelevant because of the incompetent design of the reading process Has anybody at the AJC actually tried to read the paper with this new app on an iPad Its absolutely unacceptable The old replica has its shortcomings but is far superior to the new offering I will continue to use the replica app If it is discontinued I intend to discontinue my 34 year subscription to the AJC UPDATE This illconceived app is also unstable From time to time it will decide that the user is unauthorized and blocks access The app says to log in and it does accept the login info puts a check mark beside ID and password when entered However it then loops back to the unauthorized message and repeats the login request which then fails again endlessly The clueless support person said a new password was needed in spite of the fact that the app was clearly accepting the existing login info The only solution is to delete the defective app and reinstall it VERY convenient UPDATE After using this app for several months would now rate it as acceptable It is possible to learn to work around its awkward design and the strength of new features like search skip and return and TOC make it acceptable Also have had no recurrence of lockout problems but the app still does crash occasionally UPDATE Lockout problems are back Also tried to use the much improved account management facilities Another embarrassment for AJC TOTALLY NONFUNCTIONAL What possible explanation can there be for releasing software over and over that does not function properly The explanation is management incompetence and this is a problem AJC better deal with NOW if it hopes to survive in the digital era UPDATE More lockout problems but now deleting and reinstalling does not work Message We are currently unable to log you in and validate your subscription Support tech said they were doing some upgrades that caused problems He then backed out some changes which allowed me to log in UPDATE Next day lockout problems AGAIN This time the different support tech said he did not know how to solve the problem and he could only open a ticket Said he had no idea how long it would take to solve the problem I asked him to check with other staff for a solution He replied that he was the only person on duty since it was Saturday Asked him to phone his boss for help and he said he would and would get back to me Never heard from him again UPDATE Still running into periodic lockouts Also the outoffocus at margins problem actually seems to be getting worse and sometimes wont clear at all Unbelievably incompetent app development and support Probably indicative of overall incompetence at AJC Seriously doubt they will survive in any form           Unfortunate mistake with ongoing instability and support problems

17 JAN 15 took 6 flights in DEC 14 with iPad 2 and Offline Reading functioned normally Now have flow twice in JAN 15 with a new iPad Air 2 running ver 812 and Offline Reading again does NOT work Tested it just now at home deleted and reinstalled app Then with Wifi On Offline Reading works Wifi Off Offline reading does NOT work Please fix this thing What the heck are they thinking I gotta have an internet connection to read the dang paper on an airplane If I have to have internet to read the paper Ill cancel my AJC subscription and read Google News for free Newspapers are losing paid subscribers Im a 35 year AJC subscriber myself and with crap apps like this its easy to see why I would give this version 0 Stars if I could     Offline Reading Badly Broken Updated Report

I cant use this app at all Sent msg to the AJC for help and received auto reply but nothing else after one week Lousy customer service for a problem plaque app Im not renewing this subscription again and want my money refunded for what I paid for and didnt receive     Cant log in

I like the app offline reading is smooth as long I download the paper completely If problems present themselves later I will modify my rating                 Works fine for me

This is a great way in theory to read your newspaper However the logon is a pain in the you know what every time you want to read the paper Call gone and youll have a good app the fact that its been addressed in the reviews for as long as it has is ridiculous that you have not done anything about it If you want people to migrate from trees the iPads to read the paper youve got to do something with this app     Logon Fails

I am so tired of this app Does the AJC even read these reviews Like others I have reauthorization problems with the app requiring me to sign back in at odd times Sometimes the problem heals itself other times I have to uninstall and then reinstall Today a new problem the paper version wont let me get in at all but the new stories that show in the right pane let me sign in Huh The AJC should dump should dump Olive Software and get a robust stable platform        Reauthorization Required but Wont Work
